The Eichberg House was built for the prominent architect, Alfred S. Eichberg, in 1891. Eichberg (1859-1921) was a native of New York, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1881, he formed a partnership with a Georgia architect, Calvin Fay more.

I went to the Penn Center for the first time in November 2012, and visited the York W. Baily Museum. It is a beautiful place, with such rich history - if you haven't ever visited, Heritage Days would be a wonderful time to do so. more.
Occasionally I do detour off of Highway 17 - and one worthy reason to do so is to visit Hunting Island State Park, which is part of the Ace Basin area. Hunting Island is a 5,000 acre barrier island that has been classified as a state park since 1935. more.
The Old Sheldon Church Ruins are the ruins of Prince William Parish Church - this greek revival-style church was built in the 1750's by William Bull (owner of the adjacent Newberry Plantation) and had a tumultuous history. more.
