702 Broad Street
New Bern, North Carolina 28560
St. Luke’s Hospital was New Bern’s first “modern” hospital – it was commissioned by two local physicians and completed in 1915. It was purchased in 1960 by Craven County and converted into office space. building was used as county offices for over thirty years, after which Neuse Center Mental Health added a large wing to the rear of the structure. Preservation North Carolina is working with Craven County to find a preservation minded buyer to preserve the former hospital building.
