Pollocksville Town Hall And Depot (Pollocksville, NC)

While driving down Highway 17 last August, I came across the town of Pollocksville, North Carolina – and stopped at the Pollocksville Town Hall and Depot (which was closed, it was early on a Sunday morning). The Depot sits along the beautiful Trent River in Jones County – and I was told by someone at the park nearby that it was a restored 1893 Atlantic Coast Train Station (that had been moved to this location). According to the VisitNC website, the building, which was given to the Town of Pollocksville in 1993, contains the original wood sides and wood floors, and was restored with the original graffiti from 1873, 1701, and 1901.

Other points of interest in Pollocksville include some a wonderful (empty, old) home, the old Strawbridge Antiques store, T & H Treasures, the Broken Spoke Biker Church, and Lee’s Chapel.
